In the middle ages when Muslims occupied Spain for 500 years, it was Muslims who were at the cutting edge of science, and European intellectuals flocked to Muslim universities to soak it all up. Leading Christian philosophers openly acknowledged their debt to Muslim & Jewish philosophers. ...Fascinating thought that science needs democracy.<br /><br />Also, it's interesting to hear the idea that anti-science sentiments among some Muslims could be attributed to anti-colonialism. That, I assume, is not colonialism per se, but merely the modern form Western form.
